Simple Server Sentry 1.3 has been posted to the downloads area of the home page, and can be accessed at: http://simpleserversentry.com/Downloads/SSS_130_MacOSX.sitx

This release fixes a number of bugs, and adds new features for registered users, including the ability to configure alert email subjects, set the email 'From' addresses, and simultaneously emailing alerts using both the primary and secondary mail servers.

Along with some minor fixes, this new version adds a number of new features, including:

- Improved floating Status Window

- Support for IMAP and HTTPS connection types

- Option to change connect interval after a connection failure, and limit the number of alerts sent per connection failure

Well, we're finally ready to release of version of Simple Server Sentry to the general public. Simple Server Sentry is, as described by the name, a simple application that can check on your servers at specified intervals to see if they respond. It was developed for our own in-house use to keep tabs on our own servers, and we thought it was handy enough to share with others.

Simple Server Sentry can connect to the following types of servers:

* HTTP (Web)

Can connect to a specified URL and alert you if the connection can't be made, or if the response is smaller than aspecified number of bytes.

* FTP

Can connect anonymously or log into an FTP server and alert if the connection cannot be made.

* POP

Will log into a specified POP server with a user name and password and alert if the connection cannot be made.

* SMTP

Will connect to a specified SMTP server and alert if the connection cannot be made.

* 4D Server

Can connect to a 4D Server and will alert if the connection can't be made.

In addition, SSS can also do a simple "ping" to any server machine at a specified IP address or host name. You can specify the check intervals and who to alert by server, meaning you can even monitor servers for your clients and let them know directly when there's aproblem.

Simple Server Sentry will alert by email if there isever a problem contacting your servers. Use your cell phone's text/SMS address if you want to be alerted on the go!
